Hundreds of staff at pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca in Loughborough will be fearing for their future this morning after strong rumours the site is to close in 2011.
The company says it is due to hold meetings with the firm's 1,200 staff in the town this afternoon to provide further details of a major shake-up, which will see the company axe 8,000 jobs worldwide.
The rumour is that they will announce the Bakewell Road research and development site is to shut down.
It comes after it was reported 1,500 jobs are to be axed in the UK as part of the restructuring.
